Role / Project description: MARGARITA: Female; White or mixed-race. 21 to 30 to play mid 20s. Seeking ACTRESSES WITH INTELLECTUAL OR DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITY “IDD” – notes welcome with submission.

A firecracker personality with no poker face, Margarita is a young woman who marches to the beat of her own drum. She finds joy in the world of Hobby-Horsing - a place where she can enter her own reality and escape the judgmental bullies of society. A true horse girl - she rides her bike pretending it’s a horse and listens to music that allows for her to escape her present-day hardships. She is deeply creative and brave. The world of her daydreams is filled with wonder, magic, and great humor. She longs to prove to both her over-protective mother and herself that she is capable of navigating life on her own. LEAD

Storyline: In order to cope with the death of her father and her mother’s battle with cancer, a young woman with an intellectual/developmental disability finds unexpected solace in the world of Hobby-Horsing.

*While Margarita runs, rides a bike and jumps over items, we are committed to providing adjustments to these scenes to accommodate any physical disabilities.
